I should be reading Henry V.
I should be doing my laundry.
I should be posting about the A/W collections, or about the things I shot at LFW.

But HELLA NO, 'cos I wanna be a Viktor Vauthier girl.

Don't lie...so do you.

'King Wardour'

Aside from sneaking into shows, chatting up the fashion journo elite in the press lounge and trying to keep up with the impeccably dressed, trotting along with my camera as they hurried by, I spent a lot of time looking round the exhibition at Somerset House. One collection which particularly struck me was the J Smith Esq A/W millinery display, for each handcrafted piece was made from the finest of fine materials...think mink and muskrat, feathers, beads, lace and fur felt. At once gothic Victorian, theatrical and fantastical, these confections are not for the faint-hearted of fashionistas. Pure couture. Lady Macbeth would do them proud. Indeed, actress Helen McCrory was hatted by J Smith Esq for the premiere of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland this week, the black veiled number was the perfect mad hatter accompaniment to her Vivienne Westwood dress. Justin Smith will soon be collaborating with Manish Arora ... I anticipate something sensational.

SARTORIAL HAVOC PART ONE

Incriminating evidence from the PPQ aftershow party at brand spanking new club Runway on New Oxford St. on Saturday night followed by a fash pack shindig at Molton House. Notorious michief-makers W and I were joined by my long-term partner in fashion crime Lola of lolitaluvs, Audrey of Frassy Fame, the sublimely dressed Nadia of FrouFrouu, Frances of Happy Because and with a bevy of impeccably dapper boys in tow.

More to follow...

This euphonous songstress serenaded us at Runway, but her name eludes me...assistance?

Lola and I conduct a quick shoe change for the club-hop to Molton House. I had already taken a tumble off my platforms twice by this stage, including one spectacular plunge into a group of minicab drivers on Dean St. Fashion Week knee indeed.

On the Red Carpet at Burberry

The Burberry tent at the Chelsea Art College was absolutely spectacular, and to be honest I was far more impressed by the impeccably turned out front-of-house staff than what was going on on the red carpet. And then, my flashgun died. Witnessing La Wintour was a milestone moment though, and Olivia Palermo is really the world's biggest sweetheart...She said she couldn't get enough of London. Nor can I.

[FASHION WEEK REPORTAGE : PPQ]

The show notes read 'Fantasia', but I think that is a term that should be reserved solely for the truly fantastical of spectacles. Instead, the paparazzi-friendly audience was treated to a disco-glam collection of playsuits and party dresses in a palette exclusively of black and gold. Fun, sexy and entirely wearable, it was neither boring nor breathtaking, and there was the strong seventies vibe that has run through many of London's A/W collections this past week. 'Luxe' has been a term much exchanged, in references to long silky skirts, velvety jackets and loose chiffon layers, echoing a lounge scene in some faded 70s interior. The eyes were smoky and dark, the hair was tousled and long, and the lighting rigs blessed each model with a golden mane.

The front row crowd (Kaya Scodelairo, Peaches Geldof, Pixie Lott) revealed much about their young, so-wild-it-hurts target market, perfectly suited to the ‘work hard, play harder’ ethic adopted by the brand, and clearly demonstrated at the lively PPQ aftershow party at brand new club Runway, where the free bar became a scrum and sweat dripped from the roof. Incriminating photos to be posted later, watch this space.
