James Long's Spring/Summer menswear collection was one of my favourites of the entire last season, and unsurprisingly, adoring female fans like myself inspired him to launch a womenswear line. With knitwear still the central focus, it was the movement in his tasselled dresses and ponchos which caught everyone's eye. Fusing British Arran knit heritage textures with an almost South American aesthetic, from chunky alpacha ponchos to a red Brazilian samba mini, this was hippie ultra-luxe. Skinny leather pants added some Patti Smith to the Stevie Nicks, affirming that there is more to the James Long girl than following the bohemian folk trend. Simultaneously slinky, cool and irresistibly cosy, this is an incredibly photogenic collection which I predict will pop up in a lot of editorials over the following months.

I absolutely adore the idea behind this collection. The chunky knits, fringing and colourful beading paired with the wild hair and smokey eyes makes me think of a high fashion version of 'Hair' the musical!
