'Texture' was once again the word on the tip of everyone's tongue at John Rocha, where the crowd were in unamnimous awe for the incredible workmanship, if nothing else. There was a hint of the cave-dweller in the many layers of shaggy fur, coils of leather and astrakhan, placed alongside lace and crochet. (The shownotes cited natural history and Mayan battle dress as inspirations). Not to mention the teetering and haphazard headwear, almost resembling an upturned laundry basket. Almost every piece came in black save for a few cream pieces and a show-stopping red princess trench with an oversized collar. All in all, dramatic, multi-faceted, and no doubt with all the textural details, best appreciated under close inspection.
